USCIS Deadline Extension

Finally, a much needed and welcomed new policy change that will benefit the public.

In general, when the U.S Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) issues a Request for Evidence (RFE), an applicant or petitioner is given 90 days in which to submit a response and for Notices of Intent to Deny (NOID), the response period is generally 30 days.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, USCIS announced that for applicants and petitioners who receive an RFE or NOID dated between March 1, 2020 and May 1, 2020, an additional 60 days will be added to submit a timely response. The same additional time has been extended by USCIS to appeals to the Administrative Appeals Office and provides the same additional 60 day extension to file an appeal after a denial.

It is important to note that these deadline extensions are automatic and there is no need to file any additional extension requests.
